Come join us in Costa Rica! If you are looking for a new experience and fulfilling change in life, we are looking for a Lead Kindergarten or Pre-kindergarten Teacher.
The Rise School is located in a stunning mountain valley in Perez Zeledon, Costa Rica, about 2.5 hours from the capital, San José. Our new campus is being built and will be completed by August 2024. Our classrooms will be made with beautiful natural materials and all areas are meant to provide an open and natural place to learn, teach, grow and play. The warm climate allows us to integrate year round, significant daily time outdoors as part of our rhythm.
The Rise school currently has students from Pre-Kinder through 5th grade. The local diverse community has truly embraced our school as we had the majority of our students re-enroll from the previous year. English is the primary language in the grades classes. We teach Spanish in a bilingual structure in the pre-kinder and kinder group and as an additional lesson in the grade school. Our students and faculty come from different countries.
Our bilingual curriculum is structured where there is a Main Teacher and Assistant per class. Our 5-day rhythm would have you leading the group for 5 days and then working with the other language on the next 5 days. We would also like the candidate to provide pedagogical advice, experience, ideas and guidance to our Pre-Kinder and Kindergarten group and the early childhood program in general.
The class will have up to 15 students and you will work with an assistant.
As we are looking for a leader of the group, the candidate should have a Waldorf certificate and several years teaching experience. Most importantly, the candidate should be joyful, patient, creative and crafty, flexible, energetic and passionate about guiding the children.
The Rise School is a peaceful, natural place for a teacher looking to make a significant life change, leaving the stress and rapid pace of many places in our world and providing all the space needed to grow as a teacher and a grounded individual.
The Rise School is looking for an English Waldorf Teacher for the upper grades 4-5 class and the lower grades 1-2 class for the school year 2024-2025. Knowledge of Spanish is encouraged.
