Our Teachers

Meet Our Faculty

We currently have 1 Director, 1 Administrator, 8 Full-Time Teachers and Assistants, including Foreign language, Woodworking, PE, Music, Arts and Handwork Teachers along with wonderful families that contribute the needed time to help the school. Besides teaching English and Spanish, our foreign language lessons for the school year 2024-25 will be: Russian and German.

We have a joyful, fun group.  The closeness of our staff is clear as we all live close to school and make time to connect.

Our group of Teachers participates in continuing Waldorf training and professional development on a weekly and yearly basis. In the early stages of development, our school had the support of GWS Waldorf Inspired, founded by Veronica Kauffman, Waldorf Director, Pedagogical chair and Waldorf Teacher at GWS Waldorf School in Costa Rica for 10 years. Veronica, along with a group of Waldorf Teachers with experience and knowledge in Steiner’s pedagogy, offered continuing guidance to our school and teachers. Currently Veronica is our Director, working with the faculty to establish the principles of Waldorf Pedagogy and guide our school and families. Our Teachers are all Waldorf Certified and committed to excellence in Waldorf Education. Most of our Teaching Assistants participate in yearly Waldorf training in Guatemala and Colombia. These programs are intensive and provide anthroposophical and practical foundation and skills to acquire a Waldorf teaching certificate after several years.

Message from our Director:

“Our school is a community striving to provide a pedagogy connected to Waldorf principles and philosophy. Waldorf Education is a fun and wholesome education that is rooted in rhythm observing the key stages of child development. We are glad to receive families from different backgrounds and cultural upbringing to our school, located in a propice area of Costa Rica to actively be involved in nature. I warmly welcome you to our wonderful community of dedicated teachers, teaching assistants, and families.   Bienvenidos a RWS! “
