RWS welcomes all students from different backgrounds and schools around the world. We follow an admissions process that starts with a tour of our school and a trial for the child who will be admitted to any of the classes. The pre-k and kindergarten children have the opportunity to try-out the school for 1 day and the grades children have a trial of 2 days. Family Volunteering
The Rise School is a school community. The families of our students have to be involved to truly make positive change in the children and the school. Our teachers and directors are not strict, pushy people that enjoy obligating parents to take an active role in their children’s education. However, we require all parents to volunteer 4 hours per month. We have experienced that parents that volunteer feel a deeper, more fulfilling connection with the school, the community around them, their children and Costa Rica itself.
There are many opportunities to volunteer:
- Helping with decorations for events
- Event set up and break down
- Assisting with transitions in the kindergarten
- Festival contribution
- Helping in handwork projects
- Field trip support, organization
- Taking a role in the Winter Fair
- Helping school volunteers
